Just $1 can provide 6.25 pounds of
food to a hungry neighbor
We at The Food Pantries for the Capital District want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came out to support our "Have a Heart for Hunger" Fundraiser! We are grateful to Glennpeter Jewelers Diamond Centre for hosting the event and for their kind donations! It was a privilege to be able to honor Kelly Mateja with the 1st Annual "Helping Heart Award." Kelly is the founder of the Morning of Kindness, an event that takes place on the morning of December 24th, where nearly 500 volunteer Capital Region Ambassadors of Kindness visit the communities, food pantries, and nonprofits of the Capital Region to spread the joy of giving. We are happy to have honored Ben Boswell with the 1st Young Ambassador Helping Fight Hunger Award. Ben is an active volunteer with the Mt. Ida Community Food Pantry and the Team Captain of the AOW CANstruction Team.
Thanks to everyone's generous support we were able to raise more than $2,800.00! That can provide more than 18,200 pounds of food for our neighbors in need!
