On Thursday, October 4, 2018, The Food Pantries will host our Harvest Evening Celebration at Franklin Plaza in Troy. We and Master of Ceremonies, Ashley Miller, of WNYT are recognizing MVP Health Care,The Seymour Fox Foundation,and WAMC as our 2018 Outstanding Community Partners. We are also recognizing Bruce Sowalski for his contributions to our food pantries and those they serve over the years.
The Harvest Evening Celebration features “The Food Pantry Chef’s Challenge” in which local chefs create tastings incorporating food items commonly stocked at our local pantries. Expect to see Chef Brandon Styles of Tipsy Moose Tap and Tavern, Chef Jennifer Hewes of The Point, Chef Sainabou Jatta and Chef Carmen Santos of Whole Foods Market, Chef Kizzy Williams of Allie B's Cozy Kitchen, Chef Kyle Macpherson and Chef Joan Porambo of Field Notes, Chef Eric Tisaj's and Chef Christina Zullo of Mazzone Hospitality/Prime Business Dining, Chef Dan Hurlbut of Honest Weight Food Co-op, and The Food Pantries' Member, St. John's/St. Ann's Center. Judges include Yono Purnomo of Yono's, Bailli William Harris of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, Steve Barnes of Times Union, Daniel Berman of Yelp, Ashley Dingeman of Saratoga Food Fanatic, and a Yelp Elite. We expect 300 guests to join us for a VIP networking reception, silent auction, live music, raffles, heavy hors-d'oeuvres, dessert and a cash bar.
